We are the Three Forks Baptist Association located in Western North Carolina. Our mission is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ locally, nationally and worldwide through our ministries.
Thank you for your personal support of our Association's ministries. With closure of Shelter Rock we are now serving over 120 families each week at our Christian Outreach Center. That's a 20% increase and the Lord has graciously kept us in funding for food for these extra people. Our schoolbag program now provides some weekend food for 400 children in the county at a cost of about $2/child. We spend about $325 per week on food for families distributed on Monday evenings. That translates to 3-4 days worth of groceries for 37 people per hundred dollars. This includes fresh produce, frozen meats, bread and milk, not just canned goods. A big thanks to Larry and Barbara Woodrow of FBC Boone.
Our jail ministry continues to see men come to Christ each month. Please pray for our pastors as they share God's Word. We also provided help with the Toy Run of the Christian Motorcyclist Assoc. which gave toys and clothes to nearly 600 children this year! We thank Kris and Becky Fowler of Mount Vernon as our chaplains and directors of the Toy Run.
Bethlehem and Beyond grew this Christmas in our focus to put Christ as Number One in Christmas celebrations. The web site is running at www.bethlehemandbeyond.com so you can view activities and photos of events. The Nativity Tour hosted over 175 people last weekend. Carolers sang three Friday evenings at the Boone Mall in 12 groups. The Art Contest was small, but we promise to expand it next year as well as other children's activities. Thanks go to Donna Nealy, Nancy and Jim Walker and Danny and Beverly Watts for their leadership and skills.
May the Lord grant you and your church a Christmas full of the joy we see on many faces because of your expression of love through these ministries in Jesus' name!
