Operation InAsMuch (OIAM) Saturday, October 2, 2010(rain or shine)
Volunteers meet at the Boone Mall at 7:30am for a time of prayer,
devotion and announcements.
So, what is Operation InAsMuch and how do you get involved? Operation InAsMuch is a huge, one-day, community blitz of volunteers that saturate the area with their willingness to serve the Lord and share His love.
Areas of service this year are: Prayer Teams to pray at each site for the individual or family being assisted; Children's Festival Booths at the Boone Mall for all of the patrons and kids that come to the mall that day; Arts Festival participants to showcase their talents in song, dance, drama, puppets and more; Lunch Teams are needed to pack bag lunches Friday night, to distribute to the volunteers Saturday morning; Leaf Raking and Yard Work Crews are needed to clean yards from winter's wear for those home owners unable to do so; Construction Teams are needed for a variety of home repair projects including handicap ramps, roof repair, porch and deck repair, interior and exterior minor home repairs; Sewing Teams are needed NOW to sew walker bags, cath bags, comfort blankets and heart pillows to distribute to the hospital, nursing homes and local law enforcement officers on OIAM day; Hebron Colony Teams are needed to do various projects at Hebron Colony, a local ministry serving those with drug and alcohol dependence needs; Nursing Home visitation teams are needed to visit and play games with the residents; Spanish Outreach Teams are needed to minister to the Hispanic residents of the community; Photography Teams are needed to travel to project sites to document through pictures and video which will be shown at the Sunday Celebration event on May 2nd; Childcare Workers are needed to entertain and watch the young children of the volunteers serving on Saturday from 8AM-4PM, at Greenway Child Development Center. Transportation will be provided for childcare workers and children to be shuttled to the Children's Festival at the Boone Mall to play the festival games and make crafts.
Lunch Teams are needed to pack lunches for volunteers on Friday night. Lunches would need to be delivered to the Boone Mall on Saturday, October 2nd, by 7:30AM.
Get involved with our food ministry at the Christian Outreach Center! Volunteers are needed to pack food boxes every Wednesday beginning at 9AM. Volunteers to distribute food boxes to recipients are needed on Mondays from 4PM-7PM. Volunteers for unloading the food truck are needed every Tuesday at Noon. Volunteers to pack school bags are needed every Wednesday at 9AM. Emphasis dates in conjunction with Operation InAsMuch are Mondays, September 27th and October 4th, and Wednesdays, September 29th and October 6th, but this is an ongoing ministry that could use assistance EVERY MONDAY, TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY!
