Impact Watauga is a day when we, as an Association of churches, come together to have an intentional day of service and mission in our local community. Last year was the first year of Impact Watauga. We had nine participating churches last year, and many of these churches participated in more than one project. Because of this, many lives were touched in our community. People were able to see Christ through the actions of our churches.
This year Impact Watauga is scheduled for September 8, and we hope to have even more churches and more projects to Impact our community this year. We especially want to stress that Impact Watauga is for everyone. You don't have to know how to build a ramp or run a chainsaw to participate in Impact Watauga. Anyone of any age can make a difference. Think of what you are good at and enjoy doing, and then consider how that can be used to help or minister to the people of Watauga County. Then encourage your church to participate.
On September 9 our churches are invited to meet at Valle Crucis Park (time to be determined) for a celebration cookout. Participating churches will share praise reports of how people were ministered to through impact Watauga and how Christ was made known to those who were being helped. Last year's cookout was a great success, with great food and fellowship and many praises for the Impact we had on our community.
More details about Impact Watauga will follow soon, but please keep the day in prayer as we move forward, praying that we can make an Impact for Christ on September 8.
