CSFP Food Boxes

​

Persons age 60 and over who live in Watauga County may be eligible to receive a free box of food monthly through a program partnership between the USDA and Baptists on Mission. 

​

This free food box is available to residents of Watauga County who are over the age of 60 and meet the income guidelines.

​

If you meet these requirements, or know someone who does, please contact the Association office to find out how to apply.

WINGS Update

​

WINGS is the women's ministry group of Three Forks Baptist Association. 

​

Mission - Connecting and equipping women's ministry leaders. 

Vision - Our vision is to see an active women's ministry in each church in our association. 

- We will encourage, strengthen, and connect existing women's groups

- We will provide support for developing and equipping new women's groups

- We will see those groups connected and equipped for the advancement of God's kingdom

 

The mission of WINGS is to connect and equip women's ministry leaders. Our goal is to be a resource to the women's groups in all of our Association churches.  We do this by providing them with training, education, and opportunities for service and ministry, as well as a place to fellowship and to learn and grow alongside one another. We welcome any woman from any of our Three Forks Baptist Association churches to contact us at 828-264-4482 or email us at to find out how you can become involved with WINGS.

Ways to Partner in Missions and Outreach 

​

If you or your church is looking for a local agency to support, here is a list of agencies to consider.  Some are Christian in focus, and others are secular, but all of them are doing great work.  If you have an idea of a local agency that our churches can support, let us know.  

​

Associational Hunger Ministries 

​

Blessing Boxes - There are several Blessing Boxes or Little Free Pantries in our area.  These boxes are stocked with non-perishable foods and can be accessed by anyone at any time.  There is a box located at the Associational office, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, and at the Watauga Food Hub on the Poplar Grove Bypass.  Food can be dropped off and placed in the box at any time.

Christian Outreach Center - The Christian Outreach Center is a food pantry which is open on Mondays from 1-5.  The Christian Outreach Center has been closed due to COVID, but will be reopening on September 20. Please contact First Baptist Church of Boone at 828-264-2441to find out the most immediate needs of the COC. 

​

Commodity Supplemental Food Program - Persons over the age of 60 who reside in Watauga County and meet the income guidelines are eligible to receive a free box of food monthly.  The food will be distributed through Greenway and Howard's Creek churches.  To find out how to apply call Greenway at 828-264-7700, Howard's Creek at 828-264-1908 or Three Forks Association at 828-264-4482.

Greenway Food Pantry - Greenway Baptist Church has a food pantry which is open to the public on Thursdays from 10-2.  Please contact Greenway Baptist Church at 828-264-7750 to find out the best way to support Greenway's Food Pantry.

Local Ministries 

​

De La Cruz Farms - De la Cruz Farms provides safe, interactive experiences for individuals to know God through faith in Jesus Christ in a horse and farm environment. The farm serves children, adults, and families who may be facing difficult life circumstances, living in at risk environments, or dealing with a challenging need. The Hope Center (Formerly Hope Pregnancy Center) - "The Hope Center is committed to providing a safe space to navigate the emotions and stressors of an unintended pregnancy." The Hope Center offers pregnancy support services, pregnancy testing and confirmation, STI testing and after abortion care. Hebron ColonyHebron Colony has been in existence since 1947, one of the oldest facilities around devoted to the restoration of individuals whose lives have been ravaged by alcohol and drug addiction, and also one of the most successful. We understand that many people who have slipped into chemical dependency desperately need and want a personal relationship with God, and here, on the mountain, they find focus, direction, and guidance to help them find and in some cases regain what has been missing in their lives. Hospitality House - The mission of Hospitality House is to rebuild lives and strengthen community by providing a safe, nurturing, healthy environment in which individuals and families experiencing homelessness and poverty related crises are equipped to become self-sufficient and productive. Hunger and Health Coalition - The Hunger and Health Coalition offers a year round food pantry and produce market and a food recovery kitchen, which have continued to operate during COVID. Their backpack program provides meals for food insecure students on weekends and during school breaks. Joy Cove - Joy Cove is a part of the network of Baptist Children's Homes, located it Zionville.  Joy Cove is a residential home for adults with developmental disabilities.  Joy Cove is currently not allowing on-site outreach or volunteering, however there may be other ways you can serve during this time.  Call 828-297-8001 to find out how you can help at this time.

Kari's Home/Freedom Farm - The mission of Kari's Home and Freedom Farm is to seek the restoration of men and women broken by chemical addiction to the point of repentance by introducing them to the person and work of Jesus Christ as He is presented, proclaimed, and described in the Bible. Freedom Farm Ministries is a year long, Christ centered transformational ministry for people who struggle with bondage from substance abuse. Safe Harbor is an Christ-centered community for rebuilding, renewing, and recovery. They offer two main programs for women, the Whole Woman Residential Program, which is a  one year program that takes women deeper than sobriety by focusing on holistic healing, and the Greenleaf program, which provides Whole Woman graduates and women and children in need with low-cost, furnished, clean and safe apartments as they look for structure and support while preparing for successful, independent living.  Call 828-855-9055 for the Whole Woman Program or 828-578-5038 for the Greenleaf Program or visit safeharbornc.org to find out how to get involved.

Partnerships with NC Baptist and the SBC

​

Baptist Children's Homes of NC - As a ministry of NC Baptists, their mission is, "Sharing Hope...Changing Lives." They serve all one hundred counties in NC and operate in 30 locations across North Carolina, South Carolina and Guatemala. www.bchfamily.org

International Missions Board - The International Missions Board sends and supports missionaries worldwide so that they can bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to lost people around the world. IMB missionaries are primarily supported by the Lottie Moon Christmas offering, but there are other ways to help.  Visit imb.org  to learn more.

North American Mission Board - The North American Mission Board sends and supports missionaries in Canada, the United States, and US territories.  They are primarily supported by the Annie Armstrong offering, but there are other ways you can help. Visit namb.net to learn more.
